IFC in OB Hemorrhage at UCLA

Timely administration of fibrinogen and other key clotting
factors is essential to treating coagulopathy associated with
fibrinogen deficiency. Access to fibrinogen sources (such as
cryo AHF and fibrinogen concentrates) can be challenging
given their long wait times, need to reconstitute, cost,
wastage and short shelf life. Join us to learn how INTERCEPT®
Fibrinogen Complex (IFC) is immediately available* due
to its 5-day post thaw shelf life, improving patient access
to fibrinogen supplementation during hemorrhage. Hear
experts in OB, CV & trauma anesthesia speak to their IFC
experiences and how it impacts their patient care.

Jason Hirsch, MD
Medical Director of Obstetric Anesthesiology
UCLA Santa Monica
Associate Clinical Professor, Anesthesiology
University of California, Los Angeles

Dr. Jason Hirsch completed his residency and obstetric anesthesiology fellowship at UCLA. He is currently the Medical Director for Obstetric Anesthesiology at UCLA Santa Monica and started the high-risk anesthesia obstetric service at UCLA. He has a special interest in quality improvement projects related to obstetric hemorrhage requiring massive transfusions and is currently in the process of developing a multidisciplinary response team for such hemorrhages. As a part of this project, Dr. Hirsch is helping to advance OB hemorrhage simulations that involve OBs, nurses, anesthesiologists, blood bank, and clinical lab to make the process of massive transfusion as smooth and efficient as possible.

* INTERCEPT Fibrinogen Complex is available for immediate use for up to 5 days when stored thawed; when stored frozen, requires thawing prior to use.
